I read both in this series but I loved the story of Katie and Cole best. It was more believable. Ryann just didn't come across as a believable PI. The story actually gets better toward the end. I mean why didn't she back up the evidence to her laptop before giving it to Aiden as a precaution. Did she really think she could get a cage fighter from Wisconsin to NYC just by handcuffing him. The storyline had potential but Ryann was not a believable private investigator. Story had good suspense with other good characters that made the story good. What will Nikko Del York's story be? These two made me dizzy. Yes we are. No we're not. Yes we are. But boy when they finally did get together hot, hot hot. Aiden and Ryann were great once they got everything straightened out. I'm really enjoying this series even if I'm reading backwards.
This was a fun plot with good characters...I enjoyed reading this story. Thank you for making Aiden a real person...not just a cardboard personality. The sex was great!

The plot was unbelievable and not in a good way. The hero is an MMA fighter who fights in televised matches, but his father, a United States Senator, can't find him for a year? and wait the MMA fighter is also a mob lawyer?
Second verse, same as the first!! A "fairy tale" like novel that pretty much follows her first novel of a cage fighter, who too, falls totally in love with a woman he JUST meets. Rampant sex, in detail, follows - gave up about a quarter of the way through, and deleted if.
So much inner dialogue to develop the characters and plot that I started to skim. I don't remember the first book in this series being this bad, but I read it a long time ago! My memory isn't always the best when I read 3-4 books a week. In Passing His Guard, the h needs to be a little tougher if she is to be a believable PI. It was just okay...not great...not worthy of being on my favorite reads to be read again. Just sort of blah. I'm glad I got it on sale for $.99. Don't really plan on reading the next one.
I enjoyed the premise of this story but it became a slog to read. Ryann and Aiden are brought together my strange circumstances. Ryann is in crazy debt because of the gambling debts accumulated by father that recently died and, as a PI, has been tasked to find Aiden for his rich parents. Of course both Ryann and Aiden are ridiculously attractive and attracted to each other. But their relationship is started on half-truths and hidden agendas. I didn't hate this book and I enjoyed that there was an ending, but some of the dialogue was long winded and slightly cheesy.
I loved, loved, LOVED Passing His Guard! It has everything I want in a book-- suspense, romance, wit, and twists that I didn't see coming! Melynda Price has a gift for bringing her characters to life and pulling the reader into her stories. Her first book, Win By Submission, was a great read, and Passing His Guard is right up there with it. I didn't want to put these books down. I like a story with the right amount of depth, romance and suspense that engages the reader, and Price accomplishes this hands down. The mix of MMA isn't overdone, but just the right amount to stir a girl in all the right places. Aiden is just plain...hot. Sexy, rich attorney who chose his values over money and walked away from it all to do what he believed in. And smart, but desperate P.I. Ryann takes on the job of returning him to his political, controlling parents, much against his will. The relationship between them captured my heart. Then the glimpse of fellow fighter Nikko Del Toro. Oh. My. Gosh. I hope Price does a story just on him!
