Play to Win Risky Business Tiffany Snow 9781455532902 Books

My Review:
From the moment I finished reading book #2 in this series, I've been dying to get my hands on this book. And I'll be honest...at that point I wasn't sure who I wanted Sage to end up with...Parker or Ryker. I won't post any spoilers, but I will say that overall, I'm happy with the outcome.

There's a letter from the author at the start of the book and she talks about how this was a difficult book to write. I could see that especially in the suspense story line...not that the book was bad. It just wasn't quite as amazing as the book before it. (I can't speak about book #1 because I still haven't gotten around to reading that one although it is in my TBR pile.) There were a few things that just didn't work for me that made me question the possibility of that actually happening. (i.e...Sage was arrested about a murder that happened while Sage was there when the person died, but not only did they let her go, but they never even questioned her about what happened...because she knows a cop...um, no. no. no.) Those kind of little details in an already somewhat weak suspense line could have really ruined this book for me.

Luckily, the romance was good enough for me to make up some of that for me. I did like how that whole part of the story unfolded. Although I still have issues with the Natalie story line overall, I did think that conflict added something to the romantic conflict and angst and chemistry.

So while this book wasn't a total win for me like the other book in this series, I was happy with the ending and overall did enjoy the book. This is a romance series that I would recommend, but it's one of those where it's better if you read all three books in the series because the story line progresses over the three books. They don't each have their own story. The romance arc takes all three books to be resolved.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Play to Win Risky Business Tiffany Snow 9781455532902 Books Reviews

(A note Be sure to read this series in order - 1-Power Play, 2-Playing Dirty, and 3-Play to Win - these books are not standalones.)

Being that the second book in the series, Playing Dirty, left off with a cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to dive right in to Play to Win. I was instantly pulled back in to Sage's world, and found this book impossible to put down until I reached the end. Tiffany Snow is a master storyteller when it comes to romantic suspense, and the Risky Business trilogy did not disappoint. Full of plot twists, this one is definitely in my top 5 series.
Tiffany Snow has always been one of my favorite writers. She wrote the book boyfriend that remains at the top of my list to this day-Blane Kirk. She has a way of writing characters in such a way that you become emotionally attached. Trust me, I'm still licking my wounds over how the Kathleen Turner series, which broke my heart. So I was reluctant to get emotionally attached to another love triangle. But, this series and these characters were hard to resist.

Sage Reese is a plucky heroine that can frustrate you one moment and have you saying "Go on, girl!"'the next. She has a problem most women would die for--two great but different men love her. Who will she choose? Over this series, we've seen her fall for both men but the connection with one just can't be denied.

I loved the chemistry between the three leads and that just blooms in this last book. A face from the past throws a big wrench in the triangle and the twists and turns had me not wanting to put the book down.

In the end, Sage does make a choice and it was far and away the right one. I absolutely loved this series and hate that it's only three books.
Actual Rating 4.5 Stars!

“You and I belong together, and no matter how long it takes for you to realize that, I’m not giving up.”

“Your eyes are like windows into your soul,” I said. “Everything else about you is hard to read, but your eyes…your eyes are so expressive. When you look at me, they change. Sometimes they burn right through me and I feel how much you want me. Other times, like now, they’re soft and warm, like you’re thinking of how much you love me.”

What a fantastic conclusion to the Risky Business series. This book gave me everything that I wanted and so much more.

Play to Win picks up right where the last book left off and boy does it start off with a bang. Things with Ryker, Parker, and Sage are just as complicated as ever. And just when you think things couldn’t possibly get any crazier, this trio is hit with a blast from the past. This character really stirs up trouble and will have you questioning their motives. The chemistry between our trio is stronger than ever, but this time around, the choice that Sage has to make is perfectly clear. But, her road to HEA won’t be an easy one. Her journey is tough and complicated and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Play to Win is fast paced and well-written. It is very easy to get swept up in Ryker, Parker and Sage’s story. It is filled with lots of angst, drama, romance and suspense. There’s love triangles and danger around every turn…..And twists….OMG, the twists. They just keep coming. And just when you think you’ve figured things out; BOOM! Another twist is thrown your way. I have to say, this book definitely kept me guessing and I loved every single minute of it. My only complaint is that the story is now over. But, if it’s got to end, I have to say, I am thrilled with the way things ended.
